Collaborative Emergency Centre Now Open!

Emergency room problems like long-waits, overcrowding and unplanned closures have plagued Nova Scotia's health care system for many years. Better Care Sooner is a plan to address these problems by keeping emergency rooms open, reducing patient wait times and providing better health care for Nova Scotians and their families.

Part of Better Care Sooner includes a plan to Introduce Collaborative Emergency Centres (CEC) aimed at improving access to care. The first CEC opened in Parrsboro in July 2011 and a CEC opened at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in July 2012. (VIEW OUR BROCHURE)
